School board meetings canceled for tomorrow

January 05, 1993|By Staff report

Board of Education meetings scheduled for tomorrow will be canceled because the vice president is recovering from an illness, school officials said yesterday.

Carolyn Scott, who is acting as president until the board elects a new president next week, was hospitalized after becoming ill Christmas Day, but she is recovering and is expected to return home this week, a school spokeswoman said.

The board was scheduled to meet with Carroll County's General Assembly delegation and was to discuss cuts to the current budget. Instead, members will go to Annapolis later this winter to meet with delegates.

Budget cuts will be discussed at the board's regular monthly meeting Jan. 13, the spokeswoman said.
