Boys suspended in fighting at Key High

Two boys were suspended after a fight at noon yesterday in the cafeteria at Francis Scott Key High School in Uniontown, said Principal George Phillips.

One boy was sent home with a parent, and the other boy was treated by a paramedic and taken to Carroll County General Hospital, but was not admitted, Mr. Phillips said.

The principal said he called the paramedic as a precaution when the school could not immediately contact that boy's parents.

He said the boys had superficial cuts, and no weapons were involved in the fight.

A state trooper responded with the ambulance, but did not question students and allowed Mr. Phillips to handle the fight as a school matter.
