* OFFICER SHOT AT/ARREST: Southeastern District -- Police arrested an employee of a Chinese restaurant in the 2000 block of E. Monument St. Sunday morning after a shot reportedly was fired at a police officer mistaken for a burglar. Officer Drew Dorbert was in the back yard of the restaurant at 3 a.m. looking for a burglar when someone in an apartment over the restaurant fired a shot that nearly hit the officer in the head. Entering the apartment, the officer recovered a handgun and arrested the employee, who was expected to be charged with assault and discharging a firearm.

* THEFT: Southern District -- Someone entered a van parked in the 1300 block of Ramsay St. Sunday night and stole a set of jumper cables valued at $50.

* THEFT: Southern District -- A bike valued at $119 was stolen from a garage in the 300 block of Jack St. Sunday.

* THEFT: Southern District -- Someone entered a house in the 2300 block of Norfolk St. between Dec. 24 and Sunday and stole jewelry valued at $523.

* ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 1100 block of Wildwood Parkway of cash and property, all valued at $210, Sunday morning in the 4300 block of Old Frederick Road.

* SCHOOL BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered the Harlem Park Middle School in the 1500 block of Harlem Ave. between Dec. 30 and Sunday through a second-floor window. It was not immediately known if any property was taken.

* ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1200 block of N. Bentalou St. was robbed of $80 Sunday afternoon in the 900 block of N. Bentalou St. by a man who struck him with an unknown object.

* ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1400 block of Franklin St. was robbed of cash and property, all valued at $30, Saturday afternoon in the 1200 block of Edmondson Ave. by a man who struck him in the face with his fist.

* BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone broke into a garage in the 200 block of N. Liberty St. Friday morning and stole $2,880 from a connecting office at Mullan Enterprises Inc.

* PURSE SNATCHING: Central District -- A man grabbed a woman's purse containing $25 Friday shortly before noon in the 100 block of Madison St.

* ATTEMPTED CARJACKING: Southeastern District -- A man tried to jump through an open window of a 1984 Pontiac stopped at the corner of Boston and Gusryan streets about 12:30 p.m. Friday. The driver went three blocks with the suspect hanging from the window. The suspect fled on foot when an off-duty Baltimore County police officer and another bystander went to the driver's rescue.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone kicked in a window at a home in the 600 block of St. Dunstans Road between 6:45 p.m. Thursday and 1:30 a.m. Friday and took a watch, money and a camera.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke a window and entered a home in the 500 block of E. 26th St. Thursday and stole a Sony cordless phone valued at $113.

* ASSAULT AND ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man making a bank deposit for a business was robbed about 10:45 a.m. Friday outside the Signet Bank in the 5200 block of York Road. Police said it was not immediately determined how much money was in the bag.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a home in the 400 block of E. 28th St. Thursday about 9 p.m. and stole a Nintendo game system and two television sets worth $550.

* ARMED ROBBERY: Southern District -- A man armed with a knife forced a woman into a car in the 1500 block of Sassafras Ave. about 6:50 a.m. Friday and took an unknown amount of money.

* ARMED ASSAULT AND ROBBERY: Southern District -- A man armed with a gun held up another man in the 700 block of Reedbird Ave. about 6 a.m. Friday and stole $190.

* ABDUCTION AND RAPE: Southern District -- A 32-year-old woman was walking with her boyfriend on the 1800 block of W. Pratt Street Friday night when a man she identified as her former boyfriend grabbed her and shoved her into a car, police said. The attacker drove to an unknown destination and raped the victim, who was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center, police said.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into Comics Kingdom in the 3900 block of Roland Ave. between 5:30 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday. An assortment of comic books of undetermined val

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a home in the 2900 block of Dupont Ave. between 9 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday and stole tools and appliances valued at $145.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a garage on the 300 block of Thorn Hill Road sometime since Dec. 26 and stole two 21-speed bicycles.

* ASSAULT AND ROBBERY: Western District -- A man was accosted in the 1000 block of N. Fremont Ave. about 7:15 p.m. Friday by two gunmen who demanded money. They beat the victim with a stick and fled with $19.
