Construction spending up 2.1%

Spending on private and government-funded construction projects, from housing to sewers, jumped to its highest level in nearly 2 1/2 years in November, the government said yesterday. Total construction spending grew by 2.1 percent from October levels, to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $441.8 billion, the Commerce Department said.
