Model railroad group to take part in train show

The Ellicott City Scale Model Railroad Association will participate in the Great Scale Train Show at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium on Jan. 16-17.

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Some 400 tables of scale-model trains, equipment and related items will be for sale. Free train movies will be shown. Refreshments will be available.

Admission is $5, with a free return on Sunday; $1 for children under 12. Free parking will be available. Information: 730-1036, Howard Zane; or 997-2166, Ken Young.


* Ellicott City: 9600 block of Ashmede Drive: Someone entered a vehicle between 7 p.m. Christmas night and 9 p.m. Saturday and stole various items including a $350 Mitsubishi stereo, a $300 Toshiba 13-inch color TV with remote control, a $60 pair of Reebok tennis shoes, a $200 black leather jacket, a $100 pair of black leather boots, two purses valued at $150, $150 worth of jeans, a $55 Guess watch, clothing and linen. Apparently, the owner of the vehicle stored the items in the vehicle because she was moving home from college.

3400 block of Plum Tree Drive: Someone stole a Maryland rear tag from a 1990 Plymouth Laser between 11 p.m. Dec. 22 and 10 a.m. Dec. 23.

Maryland Avenue at St. Paul Street: Someone broke the driver's side window to a 1987 Volkswagen Jetta between 5 p.m. Christmas Day and 12:30 p.m. Saturday, and stole

various items including a $1,660 Carver amplifier, a $375 QSC amplifier, a $1,070 voice mixer, a $500 equalizer and two speakers valued at $1,000.

9100 block of Route 99: Someone entered a 1986 Caprice Classic between 2:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 22, and stole 60 compact discs valued at $600 and a $120 green nautical jacket.

3200 block of Wheaton Way: A $50 car battery and three spark plug wires were stolen from a 1984 Ford truck about 6 p.m. Dec. 18.

3500 block of Courthouse Drive: A $200 Fultron AM-FM cassettstereo was stolen from a 1976 Ford truck between midnight and 6 a.m. Thursday.

8500 block of Harvest View Court: Someone entered a 199Isuzu truck between 10 p.m. Dec. 22 and 9 a.m. Dec. 23, and

stole a $500 Alpine CD changer, a $250 equalizer, a $299 amplifier and a $350 AM-FM pullout radio.
