Republican committee appoints new member

December 24, 1992

The Republican Central Committee of Carroll County has appointed Ragen Cherney to fill the seat left vacant when Paul Zimmerman resigned from the committee at the monthly meeting Dec. 17, saying other long-standing commitments will require more of his time.

Mr. Cherney, of Finksburg, has been involved in Republican politics and activities for several years.

He has been president of the Tri-District Republican Club, one of the largest clubs in the county, and done political research for several candidates. His most recent endeavor was the campaign of Roscoe Bartlett.

During the legislative session of the General Assembly, Mr. Cherney provides the Maryland State Republican Party with legislative tracking and research.
