Peace Lutheran Church plans holiday services

Peace Lutheran Church in Ferndale has scheduled three services for Christmas Eve.

The first, at 5:30 p.m., will be a children and family service. The church also plans a contemporary service at 7:30 p.m., with a folk choir, and a traditional service at 11 p.m. with a choir.

Visitors are welcome to the church on Wellham Avenue.

The church also has scheduled an Epiphany celebration for 4 p.m. Jan. 10. It will begin with an international potluck dinner and be followed by a Christmas tree burning on the front lawn.

The burning ceremony symbolizes the light brought into the world by Christ's birth.
