Man held on drug charges after raid in Edgewood

An Edgewood man was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and with possession of heroin, after a raid Thursday night in the 800 block of Mount Vernon Court in Edgewood.

Augustus H. Brooks, 22, is being held at the Harford Detention Center on $10,000 bail.

The sheriff's office seized 9 grams of crack cocaine, 1 gram of heroin and drug paraphernalia. The drugs, if sold on the street, would be worth $1,000.

Sheriff's deputies also arrested Thelma E. Thompson, 36, of the Mount Vernon Court address, on a warrant for having violated probation. She was held without bail at the Harford Detention Center.

Police seek suspect in Crown Station robbery

Bel Air police are looking for a man who robbed a Crown Station attendant at gunpoint about 4:45 a.m. Thursday, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said the robber was a stout black man, about 30 years oland 5 feet 9 inches tall. He had a thin mustache and short cropped hair and was wearing a white shirt, black pants, black waist-length jacket with gray pockets and a black flat-top hat.

2 arrested on charges involving cocaine

Two Edgewood men were arrested and charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute cocaine after a raid by sheriff's deputies Wednesday night.

The suspects were identified as Santo Frank Grasso, 21, of the 1600 block of Swallow Crest Road, and John Charles Cummings, 20, of the 400 block of Gateshead Court.

A sheriff's office spokesman said deputies entered Mr. Grasso's Edgewood apartment and seized 6 1/2 grams of powder cocaine worth $650 if sold on the street. It was packaged in $50 vials.

Deputies also seized packaging paraphernalia and $1,000 cash.
