Here's what to look for if you are traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways, including Interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

New highway projects

I-695 east-side Inner and Outer Loop -- Expect delays and single-lane closures during bridge construction between Belair Road and Perring Parkway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. tomorrow through Wednesday. Two lanes may be closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. tomorrow through Wednesday.

I-83 (Harrisburg Expressway) -- From 5 a.m. to noon today, two left lanes will be closed on southbound I-83 at Shawan Road for bridge deck maintenance.

Route 147 (Harford Road) and Putty Hill Avenue -- Expect traffic pattern changes and periodic lane closures at the intersection from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Wednesday. Work is necessary for the installation of a water main.

I-695 Inner and Outer Loop -- Expect single- and double-lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. today through Wednesday between U.S. 40 and Route 26.

U.S 50/301 -- Expect lane closures and traffic pattern shifts between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. tomorrow through Wednesday on eastbound and westbound lanes between the Patuxent River and I-97.

U.S 50/Route 424 -- Expect lane closures and traffic pattern shifts on U.S. 50 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. tomorrow through Wednesday for work on Davidsonville Road bridges.

Bus route changes:

The MTA has scheduled the following bus route changes for this week. Information: 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

Return to regular route

Nos. 2, 5, 8, 20, 35, 36, 91, 140, 150, 160 -- Beginning tomorrow, these bus lines will resume the regular route and use of the transit stop on Baltimore Street between Calvert Street and Guilford Avenue now that construction has been completed.

Temporary route

No. 11 -- Buses will travel a temporary route Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. because of a community Christmas celebration that will close Springlake Way.

Via regular route to Charles Street and Homeland Avenue, north on Charles Street, east on Northern Parkway, north on Springlake Way, then resume regular route.

Holiday schedule

Buses, Metro and Light Rail will operate on a regular schedule Thursday and on a holiday schedule on Friday.
