ROBBERY/SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- Corey Baker, 15, of the 3700 block of Mohawk Ave., is in critical condition at Sinai Hospital after being shot in the back Wednesday night during a robbery in the 3100 block of Woodland Ave. Homicide detective Donald Ossmus said young Baker and some other teen-agers were playing with a dog about 8 p.m. when a gunman approached and ordered all of them to lie down and give him their jewelry. When the boy gave up a ring, the gunman fired one shot, hitting him in the middle of the back. No others were harmed, and the gunman escaped.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A man with an unknown weapon robbed a resident of the 1300 block of N. Mount St. of $45 Monday night in the 1800 block of Baker St.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men, one with a gun, robbed a resident of the 1100 block of Whitelock St. of $221 Tuesday morning while he walked near his home.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone stole tools valued at nearly $900 from a 1983 Dodge van in the 2800 block of Parkwood Ave. over the weekend.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Salem St. was robbed of her purse containing $15 and nearly $300 in food stamps Tuesday morning by a man who knocked her to the ground in the 2600 block of Francis St.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A former tenant stole a gold ring, a bike, jewelry and other property, all valued at more than $1,000, from a house in the 2800 block of Rayner Ave. Tuesday morning.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A 20-inch TV and a VCR, all valued at nearly $600, were stolen from a house in the 2000 block of Penrose Ave. by someone who entered through a rear door.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men, one with a gun, robbed two other men of jewelry and cash, all valued at nearly $800, in the 2100 block of Bryant Ave. Tuesday afternoon.

THEFT: Western District -- A tape deck and two speakers, all valued at $419, were stolen from a car parked in the 2000 block of Ruxton Ave. Tuesday afternoon.

THEFT: Western District -- A .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun valued at nearly $700 was stolen from a house in the 500 block of XTC N. Gilmor St. Tuesday.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Three men, one with a gun, robbed a resident of the 800 block of Vine St. of $180 in the 900 block of W. Baltimore St. Tuesday night.

AUTO THEFT: Northern District -- A 1989 Hyundai was stolen Tuesday morning from the 500 block of Richwood Ave.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone stole a goose down jacket, gold and diamond ring, a pendant, watch, VCR, compact-disc player and a mountain bike, all valued at $2,350, from a house in the 5200 block of Kenilworth Ave. Monday.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A TV valued at $200 was stolen from a house in the 2700 block of St. Paul St. Monday by two men seen leaving the house after entering through the front door.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A gunman robbed a man of $163 Tuesday afternoon in the 2500 block of St. Paul St., near the victim's home.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Two violins, two violin bows, a radio and stereo equipment, all valued at more than $5,000, were stolen over the weekend from a house in the first block of E. 30th St. by someone who entered through the front door.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A 19-inch TV and $25 were stolen Tuesday from an apartment in the 100 block of W. 29th St. by someone who forced the front door.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone stole two TVs, a VCR and three jackets, all valued at nearly $2,000, from a house in the 5100 block of Midwood Ave. Tuesday afternoon.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2800 block of N. Calvert St. was robbed of her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $104, Tuesday night by a man who knocked her to the ground in the 300 block of E. 28th St.

AUTO THEFT: Northern District -- A 1983 Nissan was stolen Tuesday morning from an apartment building parking lot in the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle North.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Two men posing as city building inspectors stole a TV and cash, all valued at nearly $200, from a house in the 2500 block of W. Belvedere Ave. Tuesday afternoon.

AUTO THEFT: Northern District -- Someone stole a 1991 Subaru Tuesday from an underground garage at Cold Spring New Town in the 2200 block of Deerfern Crescent.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Tools valued at $3,000 were stolen Tuesday from J. Ross Metals in the 2000 block of Belair Road by someone who entered through a rear door.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 3800 block of Lyndale Ave. was getting out of her car Tuesday night outside her home when a gunman robbed her of her purse containing $110.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A man with a knife robbed a resident of the 3800 block of Menlo Drive of $32 Tuesday night near the victim's home.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Furniture valued at more than $1,400 was stolen Tuesday from an apartment in the 5800 block of Lillyan Ave. by someone who entered through the front door.
