EARNINGS

December 17, 1992

Survival Technology Inc.

This Rockville-based company, which designs, develops and produces automatic injectors, prefilled syringes and medical electronics, credited improved profit margins for a more than 100 percent jump in its first-quarter earnings.

"The earnings improvement was due to gross margins increasing from 16 percent in the first quarter of fiscal 1992 to 28 percent in the first quarter of the current fiscal year," James H. Miller, president and chief executive, said in a statement.

He said the improved profitability reflects increased sales of higher margin commercial and military automatic injector products during the period.
