ROBBERY/SHOT FIRED: Western District -- A United Parcel Service investigator broke up an attempted robbery of a company truck at 4 p.m. Tuesday and was shot at, but not hit, in the process. Two men, one with a gun, took truck keys from a driver in the 2400 block of Calverton Heights Ave. But as the gunman went to the rear of the truck, Gary Kulik, the investigator who had seen the robbery of the keys, approached. The shot was fired at him, but the two robbers ran off without getting anything.

ASSAULT: Western District -- A warrant was to be issued today for a man who placed a gun to the head of a woman in the 1600 block of N. Calvert St. Monday and ordered her to give up her property. The suspect and the woman, who lives in the 1600 block of N. Calvert St., know each other. The woman was not injured.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Gold and diamond bracelets, rings and other jewelry valued at $4,000 were stolen from a house in the 2800 block of Baker St. Monday morning by someone who entered through a window on the roof.

SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 600 block of Cumberland St. is listed in good condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center after being shot in the side Monday night a block from home.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 2800 block of Brighton St. Monday morning through a rear door and stole $30.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1100 block of N. Fremont Ave. was robbed of his coat Monday by three men who assaulted him in the 2300 block of Warwick Ave.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men, one with a gun, robbed the attendant at the Secure parking lot in the 700 block of Eastern Ave. Tuesday night of an undisclosed sum.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone entered a car Tuesday while it was parked in the 200 block of N. Liberty St. and stole two model houses used for Christmas decorations. The houses were valued at $300.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A watch, cash, Christmas gifts and jewelry, all valued at nearly $1,500, were stolen from a house Tuesday by someone who entered through a skylight on the roof.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone entered a car Tuesday while it was parked in the first block of S. Eutaw St. and stole a cassette radio valued at $200.

THEFT: Central District -- A leather coat valued at $440 was stolen Tuesday afternoon from the ballroom at the Tremont Plaza Hotel in the 200 block of St. Paul Place.

THEFT: Central District -- A resident of the 700 block of Mulberry St. was standing in the 300 block of W. Lexington St. Tuesday afternoon when a man walked by and snatched $200 from her hands.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men, one with a gun, robbed Halal Foods in the 100 block of E. North Ave. Tuesday of an undisclosed amount of cash.

THEFT CHARGE: Southern District -- Michael Endres, 37, of the 600 block of Park Ave., was arrested Tuesday night and charged with stealing money from the pocket of another man in Smitty's Bar in the first block of E. West St. Mr. Endres was to have a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Two men, one with a gun, robbed a resident of the 300 block of S. Smallwood St. of $23 Monday in the 200 block of Goldsmith St.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Cash and property, all valued at $819, was stolen Monday from a house in the 700 block of N. Denison St. by someone who entered through the front door.

THEFT: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3500 block of Benzinger Road Monday and stole a door valued at $400.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at nearly $3,000 was stolen from a house in the 500 block of Lucia Ave. Monday morning by someone who entered through a basement window.

ARREST: Southwestern District -- Vernon White, 21, of the 4700 block of Frederick Ave., was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with attempted auto theft, assault and assault with a deadly weapon after the owner of a 1983 Mazda saw a man trying to steal the vehicle in the 4600 block of Pen Lucy Road. During the confrontation, the car owner was struck several times with a device used to start cars and also was bitten on the right hand, police said. Mr. White was being held at the police station in lieu of $50,000 bail pending a bail review hearing in District Court.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone stole property valued at $2,100 from the office of the Loudon Park Cemetery in the 3800 block of Frederick Ave. Monday night or Tuesday morning.

ROBBERY TRY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 400 block of Hazlett Ave. was walking near his home Tuesday morning when a gunman ordered him to give up his money. When the gunman frisked the victim and found no money, he fled.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A driver for Utz Quality Foods in the 900 block of High St. was robbed of $30 Tuesday morning by a gunman in the 700 block of Edgewood St.
