Savage Community Association holds general meeting 0) tomorrow

The Savage Community Association will hold its general meeting tomorrow for a presentation on neighborhood watch programs and a discussion on changes at the Savage Mill.

Bruce Lahr of the Howard County Police Department will discuss the neighborhood watch program.

Some residents had requested information about the program after the death of Pam Basu, who was killed when her car was hijacked near her Savage home.

The other scheduled item on the agenda is a presentation by J. Winer of the Savage Mill. He will discuss his plans for an inn directly west of the main parking lot on five acres the mill owns there.

A zoning change would be required for the facility, which would include a restaurant and conference center. The inn would be geared to longer-term visitors to the mill's activities.

The two presentations will be followed by a short discussion of these and other community issues. All area residents are invited.

For more information about the meeting, to be held in Carroll Baldwin Hall at Foundry and Baltimore streets, or other community issues, call Bill Waff, association president, at 725-1089.
