Why Lisa was chosen: She was captain of both the cross country and indoor track teams. She is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Student Government Association. She serves as treasurer of the French Club. She has volunteered at Our Daily Bread soup kitchen in Baltimore, the Florence Bain Senior Center and at Special Olympics. Lisa also won the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award. She has organized a group called Junior State of America, a group of 15 students interested in community activities as well as politics.

Her comments: "Teen-agers are the future. There are a lot of us turning 18 who are ready to vote. We need to know more about our communities so we can change it. Some of us want to, but we just don't know how to get involved."

Her goals: "I want to work in government. I'm not sure beyond that." She hopes to attend either Wellesley College, Wake Forest University or University of Richmond.
