Baltimore City

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Two men, one armed with a sawed-off shotgun and the other a handgun, entered Burger's Bar in the 5500 block of Belair Road at 1:30 a.m. Thursday and announced a holdup. The men, both wearing ski masks, were given an undisclosed sum of money from the cash register. They then robbed three patrons of nearly $400 after ordering them onto the floor.

PURSE SNATCH: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of Homestead Ave. was pumping gas into her car at a service station in the 1100 block of E. Cold Spring Lane Thursday night when a man grabbed onto her purse. During a struggle, the man reached into the open purse and stole a change purse containing an undisclosed sum of money.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A man armed with a stick assaulted a resident of the 1800 block of Northbourne Road Thursday night as she walked near her home and stole her purse containing a small sum of money. The man drove off in a white car.

AUTO THEFT: Northeastern District -- A 1992 Subaru owned by Foreign Motors in the 4700 block of Belair Road was stolen Thursday while parked in the 4200 block of Southern Ave.

AUTO THEFT: Northeastern District -- Someone broke into a 1989 Suzuki pickup truck owned by a resident of the 2400 block of Erdman Ave. while it was parked in the 3300 block of Crossland Ave. Thursday and stole it.

SHOOTING: Central District -- Barron McCree, of the 600 block of N. Fremont Ave., is listed in good condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center after being shot in the left foot Thursday evening by a man wearing a beige overcoat who fired several shots at him while he walked in the 800 block of George St.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A resident of the 900 block of Beaverbank Circle in Towson, Baltimore County, was in the 100 block of E. Lombard St. shortly before midnight Thursday when he was stopped by two men, one armed with a handgun, who robbed him of $50. The men drove off in a red Oldsmobile bearing Virginia plates RHU-337.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A man who broke into the rear of a house in the 500 block of Cathedral St. Thursday night was scared off by the occupants when they heard someone attempted to enter through a rear window. Nothing was taken from the home.

AUTO THEFT: Central District -- A 1991 Honda owned by a resident of the 600 block of Colorado Ave. was stolen Thursday night from the first block of S. Gay St. while the owner was making a phone call in the first block of S. Gay St.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Central District -- Gilbert Stewart, 30, of the 900 block of Argyle Ave., was arrested Thursday night and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. Sgt. Kevin Warren was on the sixth floor of the high-rise apartment building 8:19 p.m. when he heard gunshots coming from nearby. He confronted Mr. Stewart and arrested him with incident. Police recovered a .32 caliber revolver from the man.

PURSE SNATCH: Central District -- A resident of the 1200 block of Cliftview Ave. was inside a liquor store in the 900 block of W. North Ave. Thursday night when a man approached her from the rear and stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $20.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A driver for the Yellow cab company in the 2100 block of Huntingdon Ave. was robbed of more than $100 Thursday morning by a gunman in the 4600 block of Parkton St.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 900 block of N. Rosedale St. of less than $3 Thursday afternoon in the 2900 block of Edmondson Ave.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 3100 block of Presbury St. of his wallet and $1 in the 800 block of N. Franklintown Road Thursday evening.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 100 block of Mallowhill Road through the front door Thursday morning and stole property valued at nearly $1,000.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at $800 was stolen from a house in the 4200 block of Old Frederick Road Thursday night by someone who entered through a window.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 1100 block of W. Lafayette Ave. between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning through a second-floor window and stole a VCR and several pieces of clothing.

ROBBERY TRY: Western District -- A man armed with a rifle who attempted to rob Hal's Amoco station and food market in the 900 block of N. Monroe St. Thursday morning fled without taking any property when the attendant ran to the back of the office to call the police.

ASSAULT: Western District -- A female resident of the first block of N. Fremont Ave. was slightly injured Thursday morning when a man she knows struck her several times with a metal mop. The man fled the scene before police arrived. The woman refused medical treatment.
