Baltimore City

FIRES SET: Southeastern District -- Police were seeking a man who set at least four fires early today in the 100 block of Albemarle St. The man, believed to be intoxicated, set the contents of two trash bins ablaze and set smaller fires on the outside of the vacant Baltimore brewing company and a tavern. Damage to the buildings was slight and no injuries were reported. A flammable liquid was believed used to start the fires.

SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 600 block of N. Appleton St. was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center and released Tuesday after being shot in the foot by a man who robbed him of $34 in the 800 block of McKean Ave. William Stanley was walking down the street about 1 a.m. Tuesday when a man driving a gray Honda pulled up and asked him for a cigarette. The man then pulled out a gun and ordered Mr. Stanley to give up his money. After turning over his money, Mr. Stanley was walking away when the gunman fired one shot, hitting him in the foot.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1400 block of Mountmor Court was robbed of her purse containing $300 Tuesday by a man who knocked her to the pavement in the 1400 block of Fulton Ave.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A briefcase and an AM-FM cassette stereo, all valued at $326, were stolen between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from two classrooms in George Washington Carver High School in the 2200 block of Presstman St. by someone who entered without leaving any signs of forced entry.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 2500 block of Lauretta Ave. of $30 in the 500 block of N. Monroe St. Wednesday night.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 3200 block of Powhatan Ave. was robbed of his boots and $15 Monday afternoon by a gunman in the 900 block of N. Bentalou St.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A cassette radio, vacuum cleaner, and a VCR tape rewinder, all valued at $175, were stolen from a house in the 300 block of N. Calhoun St. by someone who entered through a rear door.

PURSE SNATCH: Western District -- A resident of the 2300 block of Calverton Heights Ave. was robbed of her purse containing $7 Wednesday night by a man who shoved her aside as she walked near her home.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at $455 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 4200 block of Massachusetts Ave. by someone who entered through a side window.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 1600 block of Inverness Ave. Wednesday through a door and stole property of unknown value.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed an out-of-town resident of his coat valued at $90 in the 2900 block of Edmondson Ave. Wednesday morning.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 2000 block of Mosby Ave. Wednesday by breaking a window and stole property valued at $567.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Three men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 300 block of S. Pulaski St. of $6.50 Wednesday in the 2000 block of Ramsay St.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A TV, shoes and a leather coat, all valued at nearly $3,000, were stolen from a house in the 2900 block of St. Paul St. Wednesday by someone who entered through the front door.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A 78-year-old resident of the 2900 block of Crestmont Ave. was robbed of her purse containing property valued at $130 about noon Wednesday by a man armed with a knife while she walked near her home.

CAB HOLDUP: Northern District -- A driver for the Yellow cab company in the 2100 block of Huntingdon Ave. was robbed of nearly $100 Wednesday night by a gunman in the 4400 block of York Road.

AUTO THEFT: Northern District -- A 1988 Honda was stolen Wednesday from the 5100 block of Laurel Ave.

THEFT: Northern District -- After a resident of the 1000 block of W. 41st St. allowed a man he knows into his house to use the telephone Wednesday afternoon, the man stole a .410 gauge single-barrel shotgun and left.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A VCR, microwave oven and personal papers were stolen from a house in the 2100 block of St. Paul St. Tuesday night by someone who entered through the front door.

CAB HOLDUP: Northern District -- A man armed with a knife robbed the driver of a Diamond cab of $75 Monday morning in the 2800 block of Greenmount Ave.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a building at the Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. between Monday and Tuesday and stole a 35mm camera, valued at $300, that was left unattended.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A TV, telephone, and several hand and power tools, all valued at nearly $1,200, were stolen Wednesday from a 1987 Ford owned by a resident of the 1500 block of Medford Road while it was parked in the 3800 block of Tivoly Ave.
