Neall makes stops today to local sites and projects

County executive Robert R. Neall will spend today touring Severna Park as a guest of the Greater Severna Park Council.

The visit is part of the executive's "County Comes to You" series in which he meets with community and business leaders to better understand local issues and projects.

Mr. Neall's stops will include the Severna Park library, where he will help inaugurate the library's "Read to Me" program, which offers learning materials in kits to child-care providers.

He will stop at Folger McKinsey Elementary School and Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he will visit the child-care program and inspect the church's recent expansion.

He will also visit today the Holly House assisted living facility, KinderPark, Chesapeake Academy and the Jones Station Road fire station. The county executive also plans to view the dredging of Cattail Creek, "Malfunction Junction" and East-West Boulevard.

Connick inducted into honor society

Anne Marie Connick, 25, of Severna Park has been inducted into the Rho Eta chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi honor society at Salisbury State University.

The daughter of Tom and Shirley Connick, she is a senior elementary school major and a member of the varsity swim team. Kappa Delta Pi is an international honor society for prospective and active teachers. Undergraduates must demonstrate leadership abilities and have a 3.0-grade-point average or better.
