Baltimore City

THEFT/ARREST: Central District -- Bridgette Vanderall, 35, of the 3800 block of Arbutus Ave., was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with stealing more than $100 worth of clothing from three downtown stores. The stores were Bargain Express in the 200 block of W. Lexington St.; Value Plus in the 100 block of W. Lexington St., and McCrory's in the 100 block of N. Howard St. Ms. Vanderall was being held in the Women's Detention Center at the Central District pending a bail hearing Wednesday before a District Court commissioner.

THEFT: Central District -- A Bible valued at $49 was stolen from a car in the 100 block of E. 20th St. Monday after someone broke a rear window.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men, one with a knife, robbed a St. Paul Street man of a gym bag in the 600 block of Cathedral St. Tuesday night.

ROBBERY: Central District -- After entering an elevator in his apartment building in the 600 block of Park Ave. early Tuesday, a resident was robbed of $20 by another man who got on the elevator with him.

THEFT: Central District -- A chow dog valued at more than $400 and was stolen from a car in the 400 block of Park Ave. Monday night.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A resident of the 100 block of W. North Ave. was robbed of $995 Tuesday morning by two men, one with a gun and the other a knife, in the 200 block of E. 20th St.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone broke a car window in the 100 block of E. 24th St. Tuesday and stole a radar detector valued at $75.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Money and a VCR, all valued at $900, were stolen from an apartment in the 700 block of St. Paul St. Monday night or Tuesday morning.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A Woodland Avenue woman's purse, containing money and other items worth a total of $139, was stolen from her in the 1400 block of Morris Alley Tuesday afternoon.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone entered a vehicle owned by S&M Home Improvement in the 100 block of W. Hamilton St. Monday and stole property valued at more than $700.

THEFT: Central District -- Property valued at $15 was stolen from a car Tuesday in the 700 block of Whitelock St.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A gunman robbed a Canadian visitor of property valued at $50 in the 100 block of W. Pratt St. Tuesday.

ROBBERY: Central District -- An East 31st Street woman was robbed of cash and property valued at $400 by a man in the 300 block of N. Howard St. about noon Monday.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1500 block of N. Carey St. was robbed of his wallet and $8 Monday by a woman who asked if she could have a drink of water.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A VCR valued at $300 was stolen from a storeroom at the state's Department of Social Services building in the 700 block of Ashburton St. between Nov. 4 and Monday.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 2600 block of Lauretta Ave. of his jacket, watch and $11, all valued at nearly $250, in the 2800 block of N. Payson St. Sunday night.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 2600 block of Pennsylvania Ave. through the front door over the weekend and stole several cans of paint and paint brushes, all valued at nearly $140.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Stereo equipment valued at more than $600 was stolen from an apartment in the 1000 block of Edmondson Ave. Monday by someone who entered through a window.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Benjamin Barry, of the 1900 block of W. North Ave., was shot in the left thigh Monday night inside his house by a gunman who fled. Mr. Barry was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Unit and is listed in critical condition. Police said they knew of no motive for the shooting.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A 16-year-old from the 1500 block of W. Fayette St. was robbed of $350 by a gunman in the first block of N. Stricker St. Monday night.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A gunman robbed Shoe City in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. of an undisclosed sum Monday afternoon.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- An employee of Murry's steaks in the 8300 block of Pennsylvania Ave. in Forestville, was robbed of an undisclosed sum Monday afternoon in the 700 block of Poplar Grove St. by two men, one with a handgun.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A man who implied he had a gun robbed a resident of the 2700 block of Riggs Ave. of more than $100 worth of food stamps Monday night in the 3700 block of W. North Ave.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Two men in the 500 block of Yale Ave. Monday night were robbed of property having a value of $900 by two men, one with a shotgun.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Two men, one with a gun, robbed a resident of the 5500 block of Midwood Ave. of his car and money Monday in the 500 block of Wildwood Parkway.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 4400 block of Pen Lucy Road was in the 400 block of Swan Ave. Tuesday when two men, one armed with a knife, robbed him of $15.
