Spalding star picks Towson

Archbishop Spalding's Jeff Paxson has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball at Towson State University.

A starter since his freshman year, Paxson enters his senior year with the Cavaliers with 73 career hits, including 23 doubles, two triples, two home runs and 56 RBI.

As a junior last season, Paxson hit .422 and was selected to the All-MSA A Conference team and the Anne Arundel County Sun's All-County squad.

At the time of his signing, Paxson was being recruited by the U. S. Naval Academy, Maryland, George Washington university and Princeton, as well as Wake Forest, the University of Arkansas and the University of Indiana.
