Reisterstown man killed while crossing Md. 140

A 47-year-old Reisterstown man was killed last evening when he was struck by one car and then run over by three others while attempting to cross Md. 140 near Old Gamber Road in Finksburg.

State Police at the Westminster Barracks said Curtis Donald Osborne, of the 6000 block of Glen Falls Road, was walking across Md. 140 at 7 p.m. when he was hit by a southbound car driven by Amy Elizabeth Booth, 18, of Hampstead.

Mr. Osborne, who police said appeared to be intoxicated at the time, was knocked to the pavement by Ms. Booth's car and was then run over by three more cars as he lay in the road.

Mr. Osborne, police said, was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple internal and external injuries.

Police said the impact with Ms. Booth's car caused the injuries that led to the man's death.

They said pedestrian error contributed to the incident and that no charges were to be placed against Ms. Booth or the drivers of the other cars.

State Police at Pikesville said Mr. Osborne's death brought to 590 the number of persons killed on the state's road so far this year, compared with 676 at the same time last year.
