Silver Spring woman has purse snatched

A man snatched a purse from a 34-year-old Silver Spring woman Friday night as she loaded groceries into her car at the Weis Market in the 9200 block of All Saints Road in North Laurel, police said.

The incident occurred about 9:45 p.m. Police said the woman tried to hang onto her purse but that the man wrestled it away and fled toward the Whiskey Bottom Run community. The woman was not injured. The purse contained $56. The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 155 pounds, with a small beard and mustache, and wearing a white, hooded pullover sweat shirt and blue jeans, police said.

* 9200 block of Old Lantern Way: Someone broke a passenger windowof a 1990 Ford truck Friday or Saturday and stole a $400 hydraulic jack.

* 9400 block of Canterbury Riding: Someone smashed the passenger window of a 1986 Chevrolet Camaro Sunday and stole a $450 Kenwood pullout stereo.

* 9100 block of Bourbon Street: Someone broke the passenger side window of a 1991 Nissan Pathfinder Friday and stole two gray leather bucket seats valued at $3,000 and $600 worth of CDs.

* 9600 block of Homestead Court: Someone stole four white lawn chairs valued at $10 each Friday or Saturday.

* 9400 block of Glen Ridge Drive: A $75 white wicker chair valued at $75 was stolen Friday or Saturday.
