Students decorate eatery for holidays

A group of 21 Sandymount Elementary School fifth-graders painted holiday designs on the windows of the Pizza Hut in Finksburg Saturday morning.

The restaurant asked Sandymount art teacher Barbara Hammond to provide the painters.

The youngsters were paid for their work with a free pizza lunch.

Finksburg student to join honor society

Liam Forsythe of Finksburg will be inducted into the National Honor Society tomorrow at Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore.

NB The high school senior is the son of James and Nancy Forsythe.

POLICE

* Westminster: A student of Western Maryland College told police someone entered his car and damaged the ignition while it was parked at the school Monday.

Matthew Bayley estimated the damage at $25.

* Dawn M. Gates of Windsor Drive told police the temporary tag was stolen from her car while it was parked at Cranberry Mall Thursday.
