Wrestlers to watch HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING PREVIEW

December 06, 1992

* Neil Brennan, Westminster, 145, Sr. -- Brennan finished last regular season with a 17-4 mark and won two matches in the state tournament. Coach Solomon Carr credits Brennan's success to his strong mental toughness.

* Doug Dell, North Carroll, 103, Jr. -- Comes from same Dell family that has produced long line of successful wrestlers at North Carroll. Dell has proven himself at different state junior league wrestling levels.

* Andy Kiler, North Carroll, 135, Sr. -- Was 23-7-2 last season at 130 and wrestled Francis Scott Key's Randy Owings to a scoreless tie in an exciting bout in the county wrestling tournament. Owings was declared the winner on criteria.

* Jeremy Myers, North Carroll, 112, Sr. -- The defending state Class 2A-1A 103-pound champion (30-1 last season) used to give away weight in his bouts but has bulked up this season after spending a lot of time in the weight room.

* Ed Null, Francis Scott Key, 160, Sr. -- Had a 26-5-1 record and reached the state Class 2A-1A semifinals last season before losing to North Harford's Mark Perry.

* Randy Owings, Francis Scott Key, 130, Soph. -- Had a slightly unbelievable freshman season, going 24-3-1 and finishing third in the Annapolis tournament. A bad infection prevented him from competing in the state tournament.

* Brad Schisler, Westminster, 140, Sr. -- Another one of coach Solomon Carr's state qualifiers from last year, Schisler also was runner-up to North Carroll's Andy Rill in the county championships.
