Michele DeJuliis scored 15 points as Loch Raven (1-0) upse No. 10 Mercy (0-1), 50-41, in both teams' season opener. Gayle Belz scored 15 for Mercy.

* Bryn Mawr 47, St. Paul's School for Girls 23: A fast-break offense headed by Senior guard Kisha Ford led No. 8 Bryn Mawr over St. Paul's School for Girls (0-1). Senior center Angela Marks added 10.

* Catonsville 73, Perry Hall 23: Carey Shockney had a game-high 17 points and teammate Cachet Hall added 16 as the No. 16 Comets (1-0, 1-0) beat the Gators (0-1, 0-1) in a Baltimore County 4A-3A game.

* Patterson 57, Overlea 15: Maggie Owssianny and Jackie Wilkes scored 19 and 18 points, respectively, as Patterson (1-0) routed host Overlea (0-1).

* Arundel 40, Poly 35: Poly junior center Claudia Hutchins scored eight eight and senior forward Shernale Vann seven for host Poly but No. 14 Arundel (1-0) held off a late rally to win.

* Northeast 54, Glen Burnie 43: Jamie Pleyo scored 21 points, including three three-pointers, and grabbed six rebounds to lead host Northeast (1-0) over Glen Burnie (0-1).

* Franklin 42, Dundalk 28: Using a full-court press that produced numerous turnovers, Franklin (1-0, 1-0) defeated visiting Dundalk 0-1) in a Baltimore County 4A-3A League game.

* Randallstown 47, Parkville 30: Nyota Mitchell scored 25 and Kim Arthur 11 as visiting Randallstown (1-0) defeated Parkville .. (0-1).

* North Harford 70, North East 34: Junior guard Melissa Anderson scored 23 to lead host North Harford (1-0) over North East (0-1).

* Lansdowne 53, Kenwood 25: Casey Smith scored 13 to lead visiting Lansdowne (1-0, 1-0) over Baltimore County 4A-3A rival Kenwood (0-1, 0-1).

* Dunbar 37, Edmondson 24: Rolanda Washington scored 13 and grabbed nine rebounds and teammate Jinika Conley added 12 points to lead the Poets (1-0) over Edmondson (0-1).

* Atholton 56, Bel Air 40: Stephanie VanDeusen and Alison Vallentino each scored 14 as Atholton (1-0) defeated Bel Air (0-1).

* St. Frances 49, Notre Dame Prep 33: Sophomore guard Kristy Webb scored 17 and had eight rebounds, and Khia Myers scored 11 and had four steals as No. 20 St. Frances (1-0) beat Notre Dame Prep (0-1).

* Western 79, City 19: Sophomore guard Kim Smith scored 18 points and was 2-for-3 on three pointers, and Tesha Tinsley scored 12 and had seven steals as visiting No. 1 Western (1-0) defeated City (0-1).

* C.M. Wright 54, Elkton 39: Senior Stacey Milton scored 25 points to lead C.M. Wright (1-0) over visiting Elkton (0-1).

* Woodlawn 86, EVT 12: Alesia Armstrong scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Anita Lee scored 18 points and had eight rebounds as Woodlawn (1-0) defeated EVT (0-1).

* Park 57, Friends 32: Jessica Schiavone had a game-high 16 points to lead the Bruins (2-0). Heather Bohanan had 10 for the Quakers (1-1).

* Severna Park 54, Westminster 33: Junior guard Erin McNealey scored 13 points to lead Severna Park (1-0) over visiting Westminster (0-1). Severna Park controlled the tempo of the game, maintaining a 10-12-point lead through the first half. Senior guard Amy Carnaggio added eight for the Falcons.
