Scouts receive awards, promotions

Scout Troop 873, sponsored by the Glen Burnie Park Association, recently promoted several Scouts and handed out awards.

Tom Brouillard received merit badges for Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World and Communications as well as an award for World Conservation; Joe Coggiano was promoted to Tenderfoot Second Class; Mike Sebenik was promoted to Tenderfoot; Chris Wanamaker was made Senior Patrol Leader; and John Hoyt and John Majoros were made patrol leaders.

Boyfriend charged with disorderly conduct

A Glen Burnie man was charged with disorderly conduct after police caught him throwing rocks at his girlfriend's apartment window early Wednesday, police said.

Officers were called to the 7800 block of Winborne Drive at 1:30 a.m. and found a man standing below an apartment window screaming and throwing rocks, police said.

Laudious Vardale Canty, 28, was charged at the Northern District.

* Ritchie Highway: A Brooklyn Park man reported to police that someone smashed the window of his 1979 Dodge Aspen while it was parked in the lot of the Fair Lanes Bowling Alley on Tuesday.

* Glen Burnie: A shoplifter stole seven Barbie dolls from the McCrory's store in the 7300 block of B&A Blvd. on Monday. The dolls were valued at $56.

* Americana Southdale Apartments: A resident of the 7800 block of Americana Circle reported to police that someone broke into his apartment and stole $2,000 Tuesday.
