Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Eastern District -- A man was in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body after having been shot about 1:15 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of E. 20th St. It is unknown why the gunman opened fire on the man.

SHOOTING: Northern District -- A 15-year-old boy was shot in the buttocks about 4:35 p.m. Thursday by someone who fired a gunshot into his home in the 3100 block of Oakford Ave. The gunman fled immediately after the shooting. The victim was listed in good condition at Sinai Hospital.

BURGLARY: Eastern District -- A videocassette recorder worth $250 was stolen sometime Wednesday from a home in the 400 block of E. Lafayette Ave.

THEFT: Western District -- Three videocassette tapes worth a total of $154 were stolen between Monday and Wednesday from a home in the 1800 block of E. Fayette St.

AUTO THEFT: Western District -- A 1988 Honda was stolen Tuesday from the 2500 block of Harlem Ave. The vehicle was later recovered after it was abandoned in Baltimore County.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone kicked in panel on a rear kitchen door to a home in the 2400 block of W. Lexington St. at 2:20 a.m., but was scared off when an occupant of the house heard a noise and came to investigate.

ARMED ROBBERY: Western District -- A man was robbed of $68.40 by a man who pointed a handgun at him in the 1800 block of W. North Ave. about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

SHOPLIFTING: Northern District -- About $26 worth of Tootsie Roll candies were stolen about 3 a.m. from a 7-11 store in the 200 block of W. 28th St. Police said they have a suspect.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- About $460 worth of property was stolen overnight Tuesday from a home in the 3300 block of Walbrook Ave. Entry was gained through an unlocked side window.

ARMED ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A man was robbed at gunpoint of about $12 at 4:05 a.m. Wednesday by two men in the 4200 block of Frederick Ave.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 3200 block of Westwood Ave. on Tuesday and stole about $1,200 worth of property.

PURSE SNATCHING: Northern District -- A man walked up to a woman about 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 4700 block of Club Road and demanded her purse. When she refuse, he grabbed it from her and ran off.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a garage in the 2400 block of Everton Road and stole a gas-powered lawn mower worth about $300. The break-in happened Wednesday. Police said they have a suspect.

ARMED ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men, one armed with a gun, stole a leather wallet and a $575 money order from a man walking in the 1500 block of Whitelock St. about 12:25 p.m. Wednesday.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone broke into a shed owned by United Truck Service in the 200 block of N. Warwick St. and stole several gallons of paint and paint thinner. The theft happened Wednesday or Thursday.

STABBING: Western District -- A man was stabbed in the back with a knife in an apparent robbery attempt at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of W. North Ave. A suspect, Steven Thomas, 25, of the 1700 block of Appleton St., was arrested and charged with robbery and assault. The victim was treated by a medical unit at the scene.

THEFT: Western District -- A man grabbed $20 out of another man's pocket about 6:10 p.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of Madison Ave. The thief ran off with the money.

ABDUCTION, ASSAULT: Western District -- Several men forced a man into their car about 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of W. North Ave. and drove him around for several blocks before taking $90 from him. They then kicked him out of the car and beat him up.

ARMED ROBBERY: Northern District -- A 13-year-old boy reported he was robbed of about $6 at 7:20 a.m. Thursday when a man holding a knife threatened him in the 3000 block of Independence St.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A color television worth $257 was stolen between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday from an apartment in the 2500 block of W. Belvedere Ave.

ARMED ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man was robbed of $294 Thursday at 1:20 p.m. by another man who put a knife to his back in the 3200 block of Greenmount Ave. and demanded his money.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- About $148 was stolen sometime before 2:40 p.m. Thursday from a file cabinet at the Wise Penny Thrift Shop in the 5900 block of York Road.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone stole a security box containing $2,000 from a bedroom of a home in the 2800 block of Remington Ave. The box was taken Wednesday or Thursday.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Clothing and toys worth a total of $300 were stolen between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday from the 2600 block of Matthews St. Entry was gained through an unlocked window.
