Anderson to appear at card show

The Oriole Bird and outfielder Brady Anderson will appear Saturday, as Boy Scout Troop 672 and American Legion Post 276 conduct a benefit Trading Card Show at Old Mill High School.

The Millersville show, set for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., benefits the Scouts and is sponsored by the American Legion. The show will feature dealers in baseball and other trading cards, as well as comic books.

"All proceeds from the show will go to support the troop's program of camping, community service, abuse prevention, leadership development and outdoor skills the coming year," says Dale Marshall, assistant scoutmaster for Troop 672. "This is the first Trading Card Show we have organized, and we hope everyone will come."

There will be a live auction of memorabilia at 3 p.m., including items donated by sports teams, players, halls of fame and trading card companies. Tables for dealers are $20 and admission to the show is1.

Mr. Anderson will be present from noon to 2 p.m. to sign autographs; the Oriole Bird will be present from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Donations include an autographed baseball card of Nolan Ryan, autographed cards from the Kansas City Royals baseball team, a team T-shirt from the Atlanta Falcons football team and stickers from the Atlanta Hawks basketball team.
