COLLEGE PARK -- Bryan Blessing rushed for 177 yards and scored two touchdowns as Seneca Valley beat defending state champion Linganore, 14-0, in the Class 3A state title game at Byrd Stadium last night.

The victory broke a 23-game Linganore (11-1) winning streak and gave Seneca Valley (11-2) its sixth state title, tying Allegany and Springbrook for most in the state. Seneca Valley became the third Montgomery County School to win the state title this weekend. Damascus and Gaithersburg also won.

Blessing (31 carries) capped a 75-yard drive with a 7-yard touchdown run with 5:38 left in the first half. Seneca Valley recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and drove 39 yards for a score.
