Baltimore City

OFFICER ASSAULTED: Western District -- Officer Jerry Tarud was injured early Thursday morning while arresting a man in the 2200 block of W. Baltimore St. Officer Tarud was placing Anthony McKoy, 18, of the 700 block of George St. under arrest on a drug charge when the suspect grabbed the officer's flashlight and struck him several times, police said. Assisted by other officers, Mr. McKoy was subdued. Officer Tarud was taken to Bon Secours Hospital, where he was treated for injuries and released. Mr. McKoy was charged with possession of cocaine, assaulting a police officer, possession of a deadly weapon (the flashlight), resisting arrest and giving police false information. He was ordered held in $5,000 bail pending a bail review hearing today in District Court.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 2300 block of Belair Road was walking in the 1600 block of W. North Ave. Thursday morning when he was robbed of his wallet containing $40 by a man armed with a shotgun.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a driver for the Yellow cab company of less than $100 Wednesday night in the 3800 block of Egerton Road. After picking up the men downtown, the cabbie was ordered to drive to the 600 block of N. Brice St. There, one of the passengers pulled a gun and told the driver to go to the Egerton Road address, where the men robbed him and escaped.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Three men assaulted a resident of the 2300 block of W. Lanvale St. in the 2200 block of Edmondson Ave. Wednesday night and robbed him of $110.

CARJACKING: Western District -- A motorist, a resident of the 1900 block of Chelsea Road, was stopped in her car in the 1400 block of W. North Ave. Wednesday night when two teen-agers, one armed with an unknown weapon, forced her out of her 1982 Chrysler and drove off.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Michael Lyles, of the 3900 block of Fernhill Ave., was in the 400 block of N. Pulaski St. Thursday night when he was assaulted by a man who shot him in the left leg and escaped. Mr. Lyles was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment and was listed in good condition.

THEFT: Central District -- A coat, several containers of baby food and a cooler were stolen from a car Thursday while it was parked in the 1700 block of St. Paul St. by someone who broke a window.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Nearly 40 fur coats and other fur pieces were stolen over the weekend from Kent Fisher Furs in the 300 block of N. Howard St. by someone who unscrewed a lock from a door. The value of the furs was not immediately known.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A TV and a telephone were stolen from St. Peter's School in the 700 block of Park Ave.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A gunman robbed a Californian of $600 Thursday morning in the 500 block of E. Pratt St.

THEFT: Central District -- Property valued at more than $400 was stolen from a car in the 500 block of St. Paul St. over the weekend.

THEFT: Central District -- A VCR and a 35mm camera, all valued at $800, were stolen from a car Thursday while the vehicle was parked in the 500 block of E. Pratt St.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A resident of the 2400 block of Brookfield Ave. was walking near his home Thursday morning when he was robbed of property valued at nearly $150 by a gunman.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 1400 block of Division St. of nearly $300 Thursday morning in the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Ave.

THEFT: Central District -- Jewelry, glassware, cash, a microwave oven and other items, all valued at more than $10,000, were stolen Wednesday or Thursday from a mobile home owned by residents of Minnesota while the vehicle was parked in the 100 block of E. Eutaw St. Entry was gained by breaking a window.

THEFT: Central District -- A car owned by an Annapolis resident was broken into Thursday morning while the vehicle was parked in the 100 block of E. Read St. The thief stole a telephone and several pieces of clothing, all valued at more than $600.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a CSX Railroad box car while it was in the 1900 block of Gable Ave. over the weekend and stole 12 12-packs of Schmidt's beer.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 1900 block of Forest Park Ave. was walking near his home Thursday morning when he was threatened by a man armed with a piece of wood. The assailant got away with $15.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered Saratoga Printing in the 2100 block of W. Pratt St. Wednesday night or Thursday morning through a window and stole 50 baseball caps valued at $250.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at more than $1,700 was stolen from a house in the 100 block of S. Monroe St. Wednesday or Thursday by a person who entered through a rear door.
