Suspected marijuana, packaged and allegedly ready for sale, was seized Tuesday when police served a search-and-seizure warrant at the home of Charles Ronald Robinson Jr. in Westminster.

Mr. Robinson, 25, of the first block of Charles St., was charged with possession of marijuana, intent to distribute it and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on $2,500 bail.

Police officers said Mr. Robinson was arrested in his home after they made a controlled buy from him. They estimated the street value of the 14 bags of suspected marijuana that was confiscated at $1,200.

City police reported that they found one bag of what appeared to be the drug and a metal pipe containing a residue in it in one of the suspect's pockets when they searched him at the scene.

A subsequent search of Mr. Robinson's room revealed the additional 13 bags of suspected marijuana in a vinyl case, a water pipe smoking used to smoke marijuana, an assortment of plastic bags and a scale of the type used for the weighing of drugs before they are to be packaged, investigators said.

The weeklong investigation by Westminster police stemmed from a neighborhood tip, which led to the Tuesday night raid.
