November 25, 1992

Howard County police are searching for a man wanted in armed robberies of two High's stores in Columbia this month.

Police said a man entered the High's in the 6800 block of Cradlerock Way about 7 p.m. Nov. 11 and purchased several items. He left the store, then returned and pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money, police said. The man fled after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police believe the man may also be connected to the 7:20 a.m. Nov. 16 armed robbery at the High's store in the 5400 block of Harper's Farm Road.

In that robbery, a man entered the store, talked with the clerk, then pulled a handgun and demanded money, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 23 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds, police said. He has a large nose and was wearing a beige or tan coat.
