4 vehicles hit by crime at Owen Brown lot

Four vehicles were vandalized or burglarized while parked in a commuter parking lot at the interchange of Snowden River Parkway and Route 175 on Friday, county police said.

Someone took stereo speakers and 10 cassette tapes, worth $290, from a Ford Escort; two interior door panels worth $250 from a Honda Civic; and a stereo system worth $300 from an Eagle Summit, police said.

Someone also attempted to steal speakers from a fourth car, a Nissan Sentra, by smashing a window and tearing out the vehicle's rear seats, police said.

The vehicles were parked at the Owen Brown lot on Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., police said.


*Long Reach: 9000 block Lambskin Lane: Between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon someone stole a $400 bicycle from a yard.

Oakland Mills: 7300 block Oakland Mills Road: Computer equipment worth $2,500 was stolen from the Oakland Mills High School between Nov. 17 and Friday.

*5600 block Stevens Forest Road: Someone stole $200 from an apartment between Nov. 1 and Thursday. The money was kept in a bottle stored in a bedroom closet.
