Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Northern District -- A resident of the 2400 block of Brentwood Ave. was shot in the right hand during an attempted robbery in the 300 block of Whitridge Ave. Sunday night. When the victim turned to run from his assailants, the gunman fired one shot that hit the man. The wounded man was treated at Union Memorial Hospital.

ROBBERY TRY/ARREST: Central District -- Police arrested a man Saturday night and charged him with attempting to rob a resident of the 700 block of Lennox St. at a service station in the 1800 block of N. Charles St. The victim was pouring kerosene into a fuel can at 8:35 p.m. when a man who said he was armed with a 9mm pistol demanded his money. The would-be victim jumped into his car and drove off. Later, Officer Charles Gensuer spotted a man at Lafayette Avenue and North Charles Street who fit the suspect's description and arrested him. No gun was recovered. Police said the suspect has refused to identify himself.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Police arrested one man and were seeking another in connection with the robbery early Saturday morning of a resident of the 100 block of S. Eden St. at Pier 5 off the 600 block of E. Pratt St. Charged with robbery and assault and held at the police station was Darnell L. Poole, 24, of the 1700 block of E. Biddle St. The other man escaped with the victim's property, a gold ring, gold necklace and $160.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A resident of the 2200 block of St. Paul St. was robbed of a her wedding band and a diamond ring early Saturday morning by a man who assaulted her in the first block of W. 22nd St.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Central District -- Police responding to a burglar alarm Saturday night at the Princess Shop's Kids City in the 300 block of W. Lexington St. arrested a man who broke in through a rear door. Charged with burglary was Emanuel Willis, 26, of the 1300 block of Bonaparte Ave. Nothing appeared to be missing from the store.

THEFT/ARREST: Central District -- Police arrested Ronald B. Butler, 34, of the 400 block of E. Lanvale St., Saturday night and charged him with breaking into a van behind the 1700 block of N. Calvert St. and stealing several tools. The suspect was spotted entering the vehicle by an officer on routine patrol about 11 p.m.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men, one with a sawed-off shotgun, robbed a Division Street resident of a leather coat, wallet and a gold nugget ring, all valued at nearly $1,100 at a bus stop in the 2000 block of Druid Hill Ave. Sunday afternoon.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men, one with a handgun and the other a sawed-off shotgun, robbed the Roy Rogers fast-food outlet in the 2000 block of N. Howard St. of an undisclosed sum about 11 p.m. Sunday.

ARRESTS: Central District -- Walter Collins, 50, of the 1700 block of St. Paul St., was arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with shooting at Marvin Justice, 26, of the 13500 block of Green Castle Road, during an argument in the vestibule of Mr. Collins' home. When Mr. Justice retrieved a baseball bat from his car and entered the vestibule, police said, Mr. Collins fired a shotgun, hitting the door behind Mr. Justice. Police charged Mr. Collins with attempted murder, assault by shooting at Mr. Justice, discharging a firearm in the city, and reckless endangerment. Mr. Justice was charged with common assault.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone broke through a first-floor window into the Medical Arts Building in the 100 block of W. Read St. between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon stole a radio, stereo equipment and a dictating machine, all valued at more than $500, from a doctor's office.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A North Fulton Avenue resident was robbed of $34 Sunday morning by a gunman in the 600 block of N. Fremont Ave.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a resident of the 500 block of N. Calhoun St. Sunday morning after he pointed a knife at a man during an incident at his home and threatened to cut him. The other man, a resident of the 1600 block of W. Lexington St., was not injured.

RAPE: Western District -- A woman was raped early Friday morning by a man with a knife who picked her up in the 1500 block of N. Fulton Ave. and drove her to East Baltimore. The woman was treated at Mercy Medical Center and released.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone broke into a house in the 2800 block of Rayner Ave. over the weekend through a rear door and stole a gold, purple and green suede pants-suit valued at $300.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A man with a sawed-off shotgun robbed a Sumter Avenue resident of his leather jacket and $20 late Sunday morning in the 1800 block of Whittier Ave.
