Emily G. Harp Fort Meade retiree

Emily G. Harp, a retired meat wrapper at the Fort Meade commissary, died Tuesday at the University of Maryland Medical Center of heart failure.

Services for Mrs. Harp, who was 88 and lived in Severn, were to be conducted at 11 a.m. today at the Singleton Funeral Home, 1 Second Ave. S.W., Glen Burnie.

She retired in 1969 after working for more than 30 years at the commissary, a supermarket for military personnel.

The former Emily G. Pumphrey was a native of Severn. Her husband, Charles Harp, died in 1968.

She liked to play the piano and sing, and she grew flowers and vegetables, and was a fancier of cats and dogs.

She is survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
