Pizza offered as reward for attendance

Mount Airy Elementary School and American Pizza have formed a school-business partnership.

Pizza is provided as a motivator to improve attendance among students who have difficulty attending regularly.

Students who miss no more than two days during each five-week period can enjoy an American Pizza lunch in the counselor's office.

Mount Airy Middle helps community

The Mount Airy Middle School Community Service Committee involves parents, students and faculty participating in the Salvation Army's "Coats for Kids" and the Mount Airy Jaycees canned food drive.

The school has been collecting canned goods and coats for the past month. Modern Ideal laundry will clean the coats for free before the Salvation Army distributes them. The Mount Airy Jaycees will distribute the canned goods.
