Homeowners to lobby Potomac Ed for damages

The Countryside Electric Consumers, a group of homeowners who suffered damage after a power surge June 5, will meet at 7:30 tonight at the Berrywine Plantations/Linganore Wine Cellars, 13601 Glissans Mill Road in Mount Airy.

The members live in southwest Carroll and are served by the Potomac Edison Power Co. Damage of up to $4,000 was suffered by homeowners, said Mount Airy resident Jack Aellen.

Mr. Aellen is spearheading a citizens effort to induce Potomac Edison to reimburse homeowners for expenses resulting from the power surge.

He said he plans to represent the Countryside Electric Consumers at Potomac Edison's rate increase hearing Nov. 24 at Winchester Hall in Frederick.

Information: (301) 831-5889 or (410) 795-6432.
