* Westminster: Richard McComas told police someone extensively damaged his car while it was parked at the rear of his residence on West Main Street last Friday.

The top was slashed, the windshield broken and the steering column disabled on the 1990 Chevrolet Camaro convertible. The damage, including some to the wiring harness on the ignition, was estimated at $2,550.

Police theorize that the Camaro was damaged after a failed attempt to steal it.

* Damage estimated at $330 was done to the Direct-To-You gasoline station on East Greene Street after the station closed Monday night. The damage was discovered by a city police officer during a routine check.
