BALTIMORE — Unidentified man found lying dead in street

Southern District police responding to a shooting in the 1300 block of Lemmon St. last night found the body of an unidentified black man lying in the street.

Homicide detective Martin Disney said the victim, believed to be a city man in his 20s, may have been the victim of a robbery.

"His jacket was pulled over his head like someone was trying to prevent him from using his arms to defend himself," said Detective Disney.

The detective said the man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 10 p.m. from at least one bullet wound to the head.

No arrest has been made.

Passenger in stolen car is killed in crash

A passenger in a stolen car was killed last night when the vehicle struck another car at the intersection of N. Paca and Franklin streets before it crashed into a building, city police said.

Pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 11 p.m. was Samuel Partlow, 35, of the 700 block of W. Lexington St.

Eddie Harris, 32, of the 3100 block of Belmont Ave., the driver of a 1987 Plymouth stolen Nov. 11 from the 600 block of W. Franklin St., was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Officer Greg Taylor, of the city traffic investigation section, said the Plymouth was northbound in the 500 block of N. Paca St. at 11 p.m. when the driver ran a red light and was struck by a 1987 Buick traveling west on Franklin Street and driven by Joseph Davis, 62, of the 1100 block of Kevin Road.

Mr. Davis was taken to Maryland General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and released. Auto theft charges were pending against Mr. Harris, said Officer Taylor.
