CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- Jockey Chris Martin escaped serious injury in a one-horse spill yesterday at the Charles Town Races.

The mishap occurred in the fifth race when Martin's mount, Take Four, clipped heels with Dancing Ryan and fell soon after the start of the 6 1/2 -furlong sprint, throwing Martin solidly to the track.

After a stewards' inquiry, Dancing Ryan, ridden by Emeterio Rozas, was disqualified from fourth position and placed last for interfering with Take Four.
