Savage Mill rings in the season Victorian style

Historic Savage Mill will be filled with twinkling lights, holiday greens, ivory lace, mauve ribbons and Christmas trees decorated in Victorian style for a special Victorian Christmas at Savage Mill from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

Holiday music will be provided by the Washington Brass Quintet.

At 7:30 p.m. in the New Weave Building, Yoland Voss, a fashion designer, will present a special showing of holiday fashions.

Refreshments will be served in shops and studios throughout the mill. Dinner specials will be available at Baldwin's Restaurant.

Door prizes will be given away every half hour by Renee Chaney from WGMS-FM radio.

Elane Stein from WBAL-AM radio will help to show off the renovations

in the Old Weave Building.

Extended holiday hours for shopping begin Nov. 27. Stores will remain open until 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday evenings.


* Jessup: 9000 block of Junction Drive: Someone broke into a 1990 truck between Wednesday and Thursday and stole three dollies valued at $1,200, three aluminum plates valued at $1,500 and $400 worth of tools.

* North Laurel: 8700 block of Teresa Drive: A resident heard scratching noises and saw a man running from the residence Wednesday.

A large mechanic's toolbox was removed from a carport and found laying on its side a few feet away.

* 9000 block of Canterbury Riding: Someone forced open a 1990 Honda Accord between Wednesday and Thursday and scratched the area around the lock.

Once inside, the person stole $5.

* Savage: 9400 block of Fens Hollow: A green 1992 Honda Accord was stolen.

The Maryland plates are ZRD-214.
