Realtors launch 2-month drive for Food Bank

Real estate agents will collect canned goods for the Anne Arundel County Food Bank at the Poplar Ridge Improvement Association hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The food drive is part of the two-month Harvest for the Hungry campaign by the Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors, which hopes to collect $100,000 in non-perishable food items by the end of December.

The food will be distributed to families in need by the Anne Arundel County and Maryland Food Banks.

Food will be collected Saturday at the hall on Poplar Ridge Road, off Fort Smallwood and Bayside Beach roads, and at participating real estate offices through December.

* Mount Pleasant Beach:Someone broke into a shed in back of a home in the 7600 block of Beach Drive between Sunday and Tuesday and stole a riding lawn mower worth $1,250.
