Shop demonstrates it knows how to celebrate a birthday

November 11, 1992

Sutton Place Gourmet is celebrating its first birthday with a week-long party, and everybody in the area is invited.

The affair begins Saturday; a chocolate raspberry truffle birthday cake will be cut at 2 p.m. and shared with customers. For the next week, until Nov. 22, there will be tastings, demonstrations, balloons -- and plenty more cake.

Among demonstrations from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday are pastry-making by Sutton Place Gourmet pastry chef Patrick Musel; plus sausage preparation, tomato samplings, tastings of Gamay Nouveau wine, and oyster tastings and shucking lessons. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, cheese and bread will be the subjects of demonstrations and tastings. From 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sutton Place Gourmet chefs will be demonstrating how to fix easy hors d'oeuvres.

Sutton Place Gourmet is at 1809 Reisterstown Road, in the Festival at Woodholme shopping center. For more information call (410) 484-5501.
