Dentist to expand office, preserve old oak tree

A Mountain Road dentist plans to expand his practice with a new 3,500-square-foot building across from the Pasadena Post Office.

Dr. John J. Mosca, who has had offices at the Lake Shore Plaza for 10 years, said his new two-story building is being designed to preserve a massive, old oak tree near the edge of the road. The first floor of the building will house Dr. Mosca's practice. Professional offices will occupy the second floor.

The building should open by mid-1993.

Traffic stop yields marijuana arrest

A Severna Park man was charged with possession of marijuana after police stopped him for a traffic violation in Pasadena Saturday.

According to the police report, officers stopped Clifton Cody, 34, of the 600 block of Whittier Parkway at 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of state Route 648 and Ritchie Highway.

The officers noticed the odor of alcohol and asked Mr. Cody to step out of his car. They searched his car and found what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette in the ashtray.

They searched Mr. Cody and seized a small plastic bag of marijuana, the police report said.

Mr. Cody also was charged with possession of paraphernalia, police said.

Marijuana found at domestic dispute

A Pasadena woman and her boyfriend were charged with possession of marijuana after police were called to the woman's apartment to settle a domestic dispute Wednesday.

According to the police report, officers arrived at the apartment in the 8100 block of Foxberry Lane about noon. A woman there told them she wanted her boyfriend to leave.

The boyfriend agreed and picked up a television set. The officers spotted a bong used for smoking marijuana and asked the pair if there were drugs in the house.

They allegedly admitted there were drugs. The officers searched and found a small amount of marijuana in a film canister. Gregory Brian Hamlett, 21, of the 1200 block of Patriot Lane in Bowie and Corey Deanne Vaughn, 18, of the 8100 block of Foxberry Lane, also were charged with possession of paraphernalia.

* Pasadena: An employee of Boyer's Amoco in the 7400 block of Fort Smallwood Road reported to police that three men walked into the station Thursday and took several packages of food without paying for it. The value of the food was $7.20.
