Brittingham model will be open to brokers

The model home of a new 172-home Severna Park development will be open to county brokers and real estate agents Thursday, along with a free luncheon.

NV Homes has completed 66 homes in the new neighborhood of Brittingham, a mile off Jumpers Hole Road on Finnegan Drive.

Each of the homes is on a half-acre wooded lot, and all have gas heat and public water and sewer service. The homes list at $250,000 and up, said Michelle Krouss, a spokeswoman for NV Homes.

By completion, the project will have 172 homes, Ms. Krouss said. This newest neighborhood in Severna Park features the Belmont model, a single-family home.

Those who make reservations may attend the luncheon and tour a model home from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To attend the opening, call Michelle or Kay from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at 647-9420.

Fire officials probe suspicious van blaze

Fire Department officials are investigating the cause of a fire in a van parked in the 700 block of Valentine Road in Crownsville Wednesday.

According to the police report, witnesses heard a loud explosion at 1:10 p.m. When they went outside, they found the van on fire.

Investigators say the fire is suspicious but that they have no suspects in the case.


* Severna Park:Someone broke into a home under construction in the 900 block of Ritchie Highway Tuesday and stole two French doors. The value of the property was $3,200.
