Mount Airy firefighters called to two house fires SOUTHWEST--Mount Airy * Woodbine * Taylorsville * Winfield

Firefighters from the Mount Airy station responded to two house fires within 16 minutes early Wednesday.

The first alarm came at 11:04 a.m. for a house fire on Linganore Ridge Drive and required 13 minutes to extinguish. At 11:20 a.m. the crew was called to a house on Long Corner Road and was out of service for 32 minutes. Units from Mount Airy also assisted Montgomery County firefighters on a call for an electrical fire in a building on Ridge Road at 8:38 p.m. on Tuesday.
