Remodeling firm owners indicted on tax charges

A Glen Burnie couple has been indicted on tax charges for allegedly failing to file state tax returns for their kitchen *~ remodeling company.

Earl and Bertha Hubbard of Greenland Beach Road were indicted by a county grand jury on charges of failing to file 1989 and 1900 state income tax returns for their company, Glen Burnie Counter Tops, and failing to remit to the state more than $21,000 in taxes withheld from employees' wages.

Mr. Hubbard, 62, and Mrs. Hubbard, 58, each face up to 25 years in prison and fines of up to $20,000.

POLICE

* Glen Burnie: A man told police that someone broke into his 1992 Isuzu Jeep parked at the Wal-Mart store on Crain Highway Tuesday and stole the stereo speakers.

* Glen Burnie: Vandals broke into a 1984 Pontiac parked in the back of the 1800 block of Crain Highway Tuesday and stole a portable phone and car stereo.
