Lions collect coats to warm poor people

Clarksville Lions will collect coats for the needy at the Clarksville Fire Hall, at the intersection of Routes 108 and 32, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday.

All sizes will be accepted and area dry cleaners will launder the coats for free.

The Lions will distribute the coats at a dinner, co-sponsored by the Howard County/Columbia Life Underwriter's Association, in the Florence Bain Senior Center at 1 p.m., Dec. 12.

The Lions' goal is to surpass last year's tally of more than 500 coats.

* Glenelg: 14200 block of Day Farm Road: Someone stole a mailbox from a driveway Saturday or Sunday.

* 14800 block of View Way Court: Sheet rock was kicked in and a saw was taken Saturday or Sunday.
