Brooklyn health group to administer flu shots

The Brooklyn Health Association will be administering flu shots from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

The shots are free, but a $5 donation is requested.

The association's membership dues of $2 are due by the first of the year. The dues cover an individual through January 1994.

Regular monthly meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month.

The association is at 300 Hammonds Lane.

Man robbed behind shopping center

A 22-year-old man was robbed Friday behind a Brooklyn Park shopping center, county police reported.

According to the report, the man was walking behind Brooklyn Park Shopping Center on Townsend Avenue at 6 p.m. when two men walked up to him. One put what the victim thought was a weapon to his back while the other took over $200 from his pants pockets.

Linthicum man charged after go-cart argument

A Linthicum man was charged with reckless endangerment and assault after an incident in which a shotgun was fired into the air Wednesday afternoon.

Allen Wade Sparrow, 29, of the 500 block of S. Camp Meade Road, also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

According to the police report, another man was arguing with Mr. Sparrow over payment for a go-cart when the gun was fired the gun at 1:15 p.m.

Police said they found a brass pipe with drug residue in it.

Linthicum woman robbed of wallet

A Linthicum woman told police that someone stole her wallet from a grocery cart Wednesday.

According to the police report, the 71-year-old woman was shopping at 10 a.m. in the Mars Food store in the

6700 block of Ritchie Highway when someone reached inside her purse and stole her wallet.

She had her back turned and had left her purse in the front of the cart, police said.


* Linthicum: A man told police that someone smashed a window in his 1991 Honda Civic while it was parked in front of his home in the 300 block of Double Eagle Drive Saturday.

* Brooklyn Park: A woman told police that someone broke into her shed in the 300 block of 17th Ave. between Thursday and Saturday. The vandals took a men's 20-speed mountain bike valued at $450.
