The Odenton Elementary School PTA will hold an Election Day bake sale from 10 a.m. today until everything is sold in the lobby of the school. Anyone wishing to donate baked goods may bring them to the school this morning.

The G.O.R.C. Cheerleading 6- to 8-year-old squad, which cheers for the 75-pound football team, took first place at the first annual Jr. All Star Competition.

Squad members are Tiffany Palmer, Tiffany Colon, Ashley Howard, Jenna Seward, Katie Wiersema, April Randes, Jennifer Korvin, Adrienne Cordova, Alexis Kotsis, Alexis Viera, Tracy Pucci, Katie Quinn, Lyneka Maldonado, Karen Basciano and Beth Vladich. They are coached by Shannan Quinn and Kathy Letowineau.

Second place went to the A.A. Gridiron Rebels and third to the Andover Apaches.

Twelve 1992 graduates of Arundel High School have been named AP Scholars by the College board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations.

The College Board recognizes three levels of achievement; the AP Scholar with Distinction, the AP Scholar with Honor and the AP Scholar.

At Arundel, three students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award; Sarwat Khattak, Matthew Trebelhorn, and Christine Woods. Four students, Raina Bien, Vaughn Gardner, Jay Gelman, and John Hollywood, qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award. The AP Scholars are Helen Dail, Payal Gupta, Jennifer Huff, Kristin Roach and Mark Sauerburger.

The Gambrills Athletic Club will play host to an Oyster and Bull Roast on Nov. 7 at the clubhouse on McKnew Road. Food will be served from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will be dancing from 8 p.m. to midnight with music by Skyline. Tickets are $19 each and can be purchased in advance.

The Retired Officers' Wives' Club is planning a trip to New York City Nov. 13-15. Included are two nights at the Sheraton Center Hotel, The Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show, "Miss Saigon," a popular Broadway musical, dinners at the Russian Tea Room and the Symphony Cafe. The club also plans an elegant brunch aboard a World Yacht Cruise Line vessel.

The price is $606 per person, single occupancy, $480, double occupancy.
