Police suspect one man robbed two gas stations

Howard police believe two armed robberies at service stations in Ellicott City and Elkridge during the weekend may be related.

Robbers took an undisclosed amount of money from cash registers after forcing the station attendants onto the floor, police said.

No one was injured in either robbery.

In the first robbery, on Friday at 8 p.m., a lone gunman entered the Plumtree Sunoco station in the 9300 block of Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City and displayed a blue steel revolver to a clerk, police said.

In the other robbery, shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday, a suspect entered the Stewart Petroleum station in the 7300 block of U.S. 1 in Elkridge and pulled out a small, dark revolver, police said.

The robber fled on foot after both robberies, police said.

The suspect in both incidents was described as a black man in his mid-20s with a mustache, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds, police said.

In the Elkridge robbery, the suspect was wearing a green jacket and black pants.

In the Ellicott City robbery, he wore a blue windbreaker and gray sweat pants.
